In his book Hinge Moments, Michael Lindsay speaks of those "hinge" moments that pivot our lives in brand new directions.      Rebekah's whole world spun when she met Isaac.           Elisha's life dramatically turned when he met Elijah.                Saul's life whirled in a new direction when he met Jesus. At the heart of each of these hinge moments was a hinge person, the pivot person of a new direction or understanding or experience in life. Who have the hinge people been in your life? People whose influence on you, whether brief or over many years, have affected and affirmed you on a new course in life? To be sure, there are hinge people whose impact on our lives may be quite difficult and we trust the very present help of our Lord through such times of trouble. All of which leads to the question, "Will you be a hinge person in the lives of others who loves them, grows them and encourages them?" Jesus, the Lord who loves you is the ultimate hinge person who brings joy into our lives! Trust him to give you the "people eyes" to see people as he sees them and be a joy-giving hinge person in their lives!
