For over 2 weeks,the vendors that remove waste at IG of Police residents region of Maitama had not removed waste so the area was smelling real bad.I caught up with them today 30 January 2023 by 10:00am to express my own shock at this development. The team lead of the waste removers told me that the delay in waste removal is that there is a lot of waste removal trucks at Hulumi Goza dump site Abuja(after Idu Railway Station) waiting for their turn to offload Abujas waste.I asked him why they dont want to try Abujas 2nd waste dump site at Karishi and he told me that the Navy Officers there dont allow them to dispose waste at this 2nd waste dump site approved by AEPB(Abuja Environmental Protection Board) and Satellite Town Development Agency(STDA). The Hulumi Goza Dump site is a massive site where young Nigerias have employed themselves in rapid recycling.However, the truth remains that Abuja needs a recycling plant.
