Episode Synopsis

In this episode, we will review how the Bama Football season is going so far – BTW going great! We will talk about the stars of the season so far, the standout’s, noteables, and concerns. We will also provide our outlook and predictions for the rest of the season. And after talking football, we will do a look at the Bama hoops teams as the season officially starts on Monday. Record & Results to Date• Record so far: 7-1 overall, 5-0 in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). So Alabama has recovered nicely from the early loss and is undefeated in conference play so far.• After the tough opener, the Tide have reeled off seven straight wins, showing resilience. • Strong showings SEC: wins over Georgia, Vandy, Tennessee, Missouri, & South Carolina • Offense has had some big games: Scoring 34 pts per game & 31 per game as mean. • Defense, at times, stepped up in big moments — for example in the South Carolina game, they forced a key late fumble that flipped the script. Bend, but don’t Break._ Areas of Concern / What to Watch Getting gashed on big, explosive plays and poor schemes. That leaves less margin for error going forward. But still finding ways to win on the road. • Home vs LSU Home vs Oklahoma Home vs N. Illinois At Auburn Ty Simpson Stats – Heisman Worthy – Leader of team and Star Completions / Attempts: 177 / 261 (67.8%) Passing yards: 2,184 (avg 273.0 passing yards/game) Passing TDs / INTs: 20 TDs, 1 INT Yds per attempt: 8.37 14 Sacks -- too many Rushing: 51 attempts, 79 yards, 2 rushing TDs (avg 9.9 rushing yards/game). Total offense: 2,263 yards (pass + rush) on 312 plays → ~7.25 yards/play. Ty Simpson is the Star and leader of the Team. The story for Bama so far is Ty Simpson leading this team. And he will be the reason Bama makes the playoffs, wins the SEC, and wins the natty. All on his shoulders. Jam Miller and Daniel Hill are the top two RB’s. Been effective as all-purpose RB’s, but not stand-outs as pure runners. Germie Bernard is the WR 1. This group is talented with Ryan Williams, Zah Horton, Lotzeir Brooks, and Rick Scott all contributing and have success and making big plays. Josh Cuevas is a standout as tight-end and is having a great season. 11 players have made significant contributions in the passing game. For the O-line, Brailsford is the only one playing at an A level in and game out. Proctor – good, not great. The others are up and down. 14 Sacks -- too many sacks occurring and usually from poor O-line play Ty Simpson’s ability to scramble and run and make plays under pressure has bailed out the O-line this year. Defense - Bend, but don’t break. Getting key turnovers in the redzone or in key moments. Other than shut off vs ULM, Bama defense has given up the following points in the other 7 games. 31, 14, 21, 14, 24, 20, and 22 Highest number of points allowed – 31 to FSU Lowest number of points allowed – 14 twice to Vandy and Wisconsin Mean is 20, 21, 22, 24 – so Bama typically gives up 22 points per game Bama Hoops outlook and preview Starting Five – who will it be? LaBaron Philon Aden Holloway Either Latrell Wrightsell or Houston Mallette Either Taylor Bol Bowen or Keitenn Bristow Aiden Sherrill Others Jalil Bethea when he returns from injury Noah Williamson Amari Allen Davion Hannah London Jemison Collins Onyijiaka Strengths Shooting in general – shoot 35% from 3 in both pre-season games Free throw shooting – shot 71% vs FSU, 73% vs Furman More length and athleticism Depth Nate Oates as coach Concerns Turnovers – 15 TO’s vs FSU and 15 vs Furman – Philon and Holloway need to do better, need a better assist to turnover ratio from both of them. Shot-blocking Team chemistry Defense in general Defensive rebounding – outrebounded 46 to 41 vs FSU New faces on the team Tough out of conference schedule SEC should be the best conference again this year with many good teams Given Nate’s track record, we should be a good team and a top six seed in the NCCA tournament.
