Episode Synopsis
THE BOOK OF PASSIONS II by Apostle Ezzie White CHAPTER EIGHT Oh Lord, I am careful in my walk before thee. I watch as the days hasten through the years, and they, towards the time of the end. 2 I keep my heart ripe with desire to hear the voice of God, even the spirit of the Lord that leadeth unto godliness. 3 For the Lord hath declared all men unprofitable, but those in Christ he will bestow the treasure of righteousness. 4 Therefore, it is not for any member of the body to think himself above another, for all have one master even God. 5 Mine eyes doeth behold a great mystery in seeing that no man of his own will can ascend up to the height of the spirit by which he is called. 6 For in having not power to venture beyond the natural, man must surrender his whole being unto the spirit of the living God in order to exceed his carnal boundary. 7 If a man should say he is spiritual, doeth he not, by virtue of reassuring himself of being spiritual, show that he is yet carnal? 8 For the spirit cannot deny itself, therefore, it needeth not, for the purpose of being reassured, engage against doubt. 9 We see then a separation between the spirit of Christ and that of man. Although the body is the temple of God, yet it is not one with God. 10 Asketh thou then, if there be this separation, why without condemnation, doeth God allow man to say he is spiritual? 11 One doeth well, be it the desire of an honest heart, to seek such understanding, for the Lord doeth take pleasure to enlighten his people. 12 The natural man that is a believer, is also carnal, however, the spirit of Christ, by sanctification, doeth allow him to say he is spiritual according to the spirit that abides within him. 13 A believer is not spiritual according to his own declaration, but at such times as he is overcome by the holy spirit of the Lord. 14 For at no time can the carnal mind join itself unto the spirit of the Lord. Therefore, man is unable to say he is spiritual at anytime other than in the aftereffect of the Lordʼs performances. 15 Every believer is spiritual at such time of his natural mind and thoughts being barred from the process of any spiritual act. 16 For it is a time when the whole of the natural man is fully consumed by the spirit of the living God. 17 Canst thou reason then that only those things which are of the spirit are spiritual, and those things which are by the spirit are sanctified to perform that which is according to the will of the spirit? 18 Therefore, in order for a believer to perform that which is according to the spirit, requires being sanctified by the spirit, and such sanctification rest solely within the sovereignty of the Lord; how then can a believer declare at any time to be spiritual, when he stands in need at all times of being sanctified by the spirit? 19 For we now see, that it is not that part of man which says he is spiritual, that is spiritual, but the consuming power of the holy spirit that maketh its abode within men. 20 Now then, the separation between the body and spirit doeth not leave the body without love and carefulness of the Lord. 21 For the Lord taketh special care for the natural body by sanctifying it to become a temple in which to house the precious jewel of righteousness that sparkles unto the Father, the Son, the Bride, the Holy Ghost, and all things spiritual. 22 Therefore, through sanctification the body is transformed into a temple, a concubine, and a nurturing servant, to perform among men the service of righteousness to the glory of God. 23 For the mystery of Keturah, Abrahamʼs concubine, doeth speak unto this end, concerning the natural body, during this time of the church by grace. 24 As Keturah served unto Abraham so also does the natural body serve unto Christ, for as by death, the status of the concubine did change into becoming that of Abrahamʼs bride, by death also shall the status of every believerʼs natural body be changed in like manner into becoming the Lordʼs bride. 25 Therefore the sum of the matter is thus, that every believer ought to know, concerning what part of a man is referred, when one say he is spiritual. 26 For it is by one spirit that all things do exist.
