Herein we discuss the nature of philosophy through the lens of the Socratic method as a vehicle to truth, knowledge, and understanding. The Socratic method becomes the primary, the best, and pedagogical way for arriving at truth and is, arguably, necessary to an understanding of all subjects. We situate this discussion in the nature of education and what it has become in the American school system.
