Listen "What is Tenkara? Part 2"
Episode Synopsis
While the question of what really is tenkara probably was never debated in Japan, it has been a heated discussion topic in online communities. The simple definition of tenkara is pretty straight forward: a rod, line and fly. But, things start getting more complicated when adaptations get introduced to this ages old method of fly-fishing with a rich history. You see, tenkara is its own method of fishing. And, while anyone can use a tenkara rod in the way they choose, I believe it may be good to understand where tenkara came from and how it is practiced by the Japanese anglers that have kept the method alive. Why? Because that's the best way to keep fly-fishing simple.
