.On the podcast today I chat with Debra Klages.  Debra is a mental health nurse who completed her PhD when she was 67.  Being a mother of a son who has schizophrenia has given Debra a different perspective when handling mental health patients and she willingly shares her knowledge. Debra is also an advocate of compassion in nursing to self and to others. When compassion is shared and not empathy, the burnout rate of nurses is much lower.  She has numerous published articles and is a wealth of knowledge which she is so willing to share.
