After splitting up with Hock, Darren picks up his dad and drops him off at the house he was watching for a friend. He narrowly avoids being caught by the men in suits thanks to a cute kitty he was helping. Instead of leaving his dad to potentially be caught by these men, Darren chooses to draw attention to himself before fleeing to a hiding place Hock told him would be safe. Bart and Roz are stationed in the mall parking lot when Hock calls to tell Roz to go and grab something from a specific storage unit.
