Ron Strand City Manager for the City of Ridgecrest came in to the TehachaPod studios to talk about how his city made it through the 6.4 and 7.1 magnitude earthquakes of July 4 & 5 2019. Ron explains the importance of being ready and preparing for natural disasters. We ask about what were the things they learned as a government agency and how did they get resources to help the community. In 1952 Tehachapi had a devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake along the White Wolf Fault. Are we prepared as a community for another large earthquake. We talk about a few things to think about and urging everyone to have a family emergency plan in place.
