Since its founding in 2012 the company says it has helped save families more than 3 billion dollars through the platform. Senior director of policy research and development Sarah Fleisch…says it has helped to create 237 thousand new jobs..“These are jobs in grocery stores. So people who are working at checkout, the deli counter, the bakery. And so that’s a significant nationwide addition of new jobs. In addition to jobs, Instacart has also helped to drive an additional over 22 billion dollars in revenue for retailers across the country.”There’s been a positive effect as well in helping more families have access to fresh food in neighborhoods underserved by supermarkets.
