Listen "Finding Context in Unexpected Places with Sue O'Connell"
Episode Synopsis
Today on the podcast we’re speaking with author Sue O’Connell about some key ways to build math fluency. Sue says that many of us were taught math in ways that focused on memorization, and regurgitation. But that doesn’t necessarily lead to deep understanding. To foster true fluency, she says we should start by taking some tips from literature and find ways to contextualize math problems so kids can make sense of them.© Heinemann Publishing 2019See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
