Listen "Catherine Zoraida - The Story Behind Colombiana"
Episode Synopsis
Mark Pougatch talks to Scottish-Colombian jewellery designer, Catherine Zoraida, about the story behind her latest jewellery collection – Colombiana – a deeply personal and evocative tribute to her birthplace and ancestral roots. Born in Bogota but abandoned on a bus by her mother, Catherine was adopted by Scottish parents and brought up in Dunblane. Catherine’s Colombian roots have inspired her new jewellery collection drawing on its biodiversity, geology and cultural richness.Following a genealogy test that revealed she is 54% indigenous (in Colombia, indigenous heritage is a core part of national identity, not separate from it), Catherine experienced a profound reconnection with her heritage. This is a deeply personal interview. Among those who have worn her jewellery is Catherine, Princess of Wales. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
