Celebrating 30 years of the breakthrough journey that is/was Hoop Dreams, Andy interviews William Gates who along with Arthur Agee, were the protagonists of a documentary that foretold the reality of the “dream” while allowing viewers across the globe a front row seat to the hardships of trying to make it to the NBA.
Originally meant as a 30-minute story/expose for PBS on how street basketball players could migrate to the organized game, it grew into over 250 hours of content that was edited into a 170-minute documentary that portrayed an honest view of what it takes to get to the pinnacle of the sport.
