In this episode, I spoke to the founder & CEO of Helping Rhinos, Simon Jones. We started by discussing why Simon decided to leave a corporate job and begin Helping Rhinos, as well as how far the charity has come since its launch in March 2012. Simon talked about his goal to assist the species to thrive in their native environment at a sustainable level.Simon described how they collaborate with a small number of partners, primarily in Africa, who must satisfy or adhere to specific requirements, such as preserving or developing new habitats for rhinos and other species – saving rhinos from poaching – providing information and education on the importance of rhino population preservation to local communities and larger populations. Finally, to maintain the species with other scalable and sustainable efforts.We also spoke about what makes the charity different from others and about the annual gala held every September and the significance of it.
