Listen "Google Was Indexing ChatGPT Chats"
Episode Synopsis
So Google is (edit: was!) apparently indexing various ChatGPT chats, as can be verified by entering "inurl:https://chatgpt.com/share" after your search query. This is probably the most phenomenal thing I've heard this month (year?). [UPDATE] Shortly after this news started gaining attention, OpenAI decided to pull the "share" feature. See my video here: https://youtube.com/shorts/rbbT_cp4_cE?feature=shareGoogle's recent indexing of shared ChatGPT conversations is a development with significant implications for search engine optimization (SEO) and user privacy. This new practice stems from OpenAI's "Share" feature, which allows users to make conversations publicly discoverable, leading to AI-generated content appearing in search results. While this could transform content strategies and ranking dynamics, it also raises serious privacy concerns due to the potential exposure of sensitive user data. The intersection of AI and search is potentially growing, emphasizing the critical need for users to manage their settings and for AI developers to refine opt-in mechanisms to mitigate unintended data exposure.
