Tara was the daughter of vanar physician Sushena and was Vali’s wife. She was an incredibly smart woman and always gave good advice to her husband. At the time of his death Vali asked Sugriva to take care of his wife and always listen to her advice.

 

Once Sugriva became the king of Kishkindha, he forgot about his promise to Shriram and got busy with ruling his kingdom. This angered Lakshman ji who decided to kill Sugriva for going back on his promise.

Lakshman in his fit of rage entered the palace of Kishkindha, an afraid Sugriva ran to his now wife Tara for protection.

Tara talked to Lakshman ji and pacified him. She convinced him to pardon Sugriva and promised that the entire army of Kishkindha would participate in the search for devi Sita right away.
