Alex is the founder of Larger Us, an organisation which aims to enable social change through expanding our sense of a collective self, rather than thinking in terms of us versus them. Alex is a Senior Fellow at New York University's Centre on International Cooperation and author of The Myth Gap: What Happens When Evidence and Arguments Aren't Enough? , a book which uses deep stories to unlock systemic social and political change, addressing a world of increasing them-and-us identity. He has been Campaign Director at Avaaz, where he ran campaigns on areas including Brexit, tax havens, humanitarian assistance, and human rights. He has done various stints as a political adviser, including as special adviser to two UK Secretaries of State for International Development. He has worked in the UN Secretary-General's office; and as consultant for organisations from Oxfam and WWF to the Ethiopian government and the US National Intelligence Council.
