Less than a decade ago I was a mainstream, Western medicine, went-to-the-doctor-and-did-anything-they-said type of person. I had my first baby with an OB/GYN at a hospital even though I was low-risk and very healthy. Fast forward nine years or so and I would describe myself as a holistic, naturally minded, research-oriented, midwife-loving home birther who is now a childbirth educator and birth doula.
