Listen "MIKE DAVIS - Part 1"
Episode Synopsis
MIKE DAVIS - Part 1Mike is one of the first Californian surfers to immigrate to Australia in the 1970s, arriving about the same time as fellow American surfers Bob Cooper and Rusty Miller. It didn't take long before Mike established himself in the Australian surf scene with his enthusiasm for surfing and working within the surf industry along Australia's east coast. Mike shaped surfboards for Nat Young, Bob Cooper, John Skipp and many others. Mike also ran his surf shop in Kiama, situated on the south coast of New South Wales, for twenty-five years. Today Mike's surfing passion still burns along with his other passion of writing books. Mainly surf-related of course - and can be found at mikedavispointsurfer.com Oh, and he's still shaping surfboards under his label "Mike Davis Designs."
