Listen "How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb"
Episode Synopsis
In this week's episode, we take a look at the way in which the hopes and fears surrounding the atomic bomb have shaped a good chunk of sci-fi over the last 80 years, from Asimov to Alan Moore. Before we get to that though, there are a host of trailers to react to. We have a bizarre prequel to the lion king in Mufasa, which begs the question; who asked for this to be made. Then Russell Crowe continues his exorcising priest streak with the meta layered The Exorcism trailer. Finally, a week later, and almost certainly too late, we review the new Deadpool and Wolverine trailer, attempting to deconstruct some of the bizarre cameos and easter eggs littered throughout. That's not all, though. Ben managed to watch The Dead Boy Detectives, the new netflix spinoff for their Sandman universe. It is one of the most frustrating shows with good bones but squandered potential that Ben has ever seen. Then the review of yet another fabulous episode of X-men '97 and a deep dive into its mysterious new villain, Bastion. To top it all off, we take a look at the influence of the Atomic Bomb on our pop culture. We cover everything from Foundation, to Fallout, to Watchmen and Beyond.Time Stamps: Mufasa [00:02:58]The Exorcism [00:09:00]Deadpool and Wolverine [00:17:45]The Deadboy Detectives [00:26:18]X-Men '97 [00:36:44]Loving the Bomb [00:51:42] Give us a follow or get in touch!:Hop Up On That Discord Baby!TiktokInstagramGmail Hosted on Acast.
