Welcome to the Suna Sangini Podcast!
Sangini Bhet is a free, community-led by Nepali women with a vision to create shared narratives and publish Nepali feminist perspectives on issues that matter. Sangini signifies our shared identity and Bhet signifies our coming-together in a collective.
Our community began by realizing Nepali women today have opportunities, stories, and life experiences that are unprecedented in diversity and scale. In areas of education, career, family, transnational travel, marriage, and partnership our lives are unlike anything that women of previous generations had. Yet, issues that matter to us remain unexplored and undocumented publicly, leaving a need for smart feminist perspectives and leadership for the next generation.
Our mission is to:
(A) Bring together Nepali- and women-identifying individuals in intimate gatherings ('bhet') to reflect on a specific issue once a month, and
(b) Publish thought pieces that capture our shared narratives every month.
