Listen "Adrift"
Episode Synopsis
Lately, I’ve felt like the small sailboat in the image associated with this blog post. I’m adrift. The water is calm but there is no wind. I’m in a haze and even if I had a paddle to get myself to shore, I can’t see the shore. No matter what direction I head toward it’s the wrong way.
News of Christian leaders abandoning their faith has caused me to think about what I believe and the struggles I have with my beliefs about God, who I am in Christ and my role in life.
I don’t have any answers but something I recently heard Carlos Whittaker share helped. He shared from 1 Peter 5:10.
And, after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in Christ will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
Rather than me expounding upon it, here’s what Carlos said, in his own words:
I haven’t pulled out of it yet. I still feel adrift but I know that this is only for a little while.
Chime in! What do you do when you feel adrift or without purpose? What scriptures or affirmations help you remember that God seeks the best for you despite your circumstances and feelings?
