65-73% of Officers believe their coping mechanisms are only slightly or not at all effective. In an age of chaos and an era that intensely, almost violently, rejects structure; the impacts on police officers is an increasingly challenging job that can push anyone to their limits. Police stress has been categorized as traumatic or routine stress. Stress is determined by both frequency and impact on Officer wellbeing. Difficult arrests may feel routine at some point, while one critical incident can be permanently traumatizing. While dealing with stress can manifest in different ways it should never be ignored, either scenario leaves Officers extremely vulnerable to it's impacts.
