Listen "Ep. 36 - Kate Riordan, “Summer Fever”"
Episode Synopsis
This week’s Season Four Premiere guest is Kate Riordan. Kate is a writer and journalist who has five fabulous novels under her proverbial belt. Her fourth novel "The Heatwave" was a Richard and Judy Book Club pick, and we'll be discussing it in our next Storytime Book Club. But today we’ll be talking about Kate’s latest novel, “Summer Fever,” a psychological suspense set in Northern Italy. It’s the story of Laura and Nick, a British couple who’ve decided to fix up a villa and start a new life in an attempt to save their failing marriage, and Madison and Bastien their first guests, who arrive with secrets of their own.In our conversation, Kate discusses the Gothic settings she’s drawn to, how her characters surprise her, why unlikable characters can be the most fun to write, and so much more. Then, she treats us to a reading from “Summer Fever.”https://www.instagram.com/kateriordanauthor/https://twitter.com/KateRiordanUKJoin our Book Club: patreon.com/parisundergroundradioFind Us OnlineWebsite: https://www.parisundergroundradio.com/storytimeinparisFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/parisundergroundradioInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/parisundergroundradio/CreditsHost and Producer: Jennifer Geraghty. The Storytime in Paris podcast will help keep this tradition alive with short interviews and readings from your favorite contemporary authors with a French connection. Every episode will feature five questions, asked by you, our authors' biggest fans, and answered live on air. Then, our authors will treat us to a reading of an excerpt from their book. Who knows? Maybe you'll even be inspired to write your own Great French Novel. Happy listening!
