I’m on the fence, about certain events that don’t make sense

You’re free to leave, I got my own goals to achieve
So close to appease sometimes it feels more like a tease
But I’m at ease, and that ain’t easy, believe
I’d keep going if I had to crawl my knees
My will extreme, even with no one on my team
I’ll play the game all the same, erase the pain in my dreams

Now here’s the deal, I’m less concerned about my skill
I left the hill, we’re here to learn how I feel
Now, with that said, I put a lot thought in this
Some caught, some missed,
Some might cause a rift
The topic drift, the downtown science defense
The lion prince, not worried about days of kingship
Or pink slips, yeah, I got that thing that sinks ships
Eclipsed my own well being so frequent
Relinquish the hold that you have my kindness
And find bliss in some other hole that we each missed
Distinguish the flaws from the ways things are
Locate the cause, sometimes its how the puzzle is solved
Love all encompassing, the purest law
It’s the cure lost more times than I can recall
Why can’t we all get a long-lasting bond
And pass it on, teach the young, the devotion’s strong

I took some time to gather my thoughts to speak
And still I seek a way to see what is beneath
What a belief, what do you consider relief?
Considerately, I guess I would consider it’d be
Hard to see the future, when presently
His present needs, seems like sequestered dreams
His effort leans on routines trapped in the machines
A practical means for side-stepping all the extremes
That only means, the road’s the longer, but my legs are strong
I said, ‘I’m gone’, a hundred songs ago….so long
But got prolonged, this is still my prologue
I’m so lost, one misstep I MIGHT FALL OFF
But I’m alright, I know, that seems untrue
But once I knew, the cause was a lost, I grew
And I salute anyone that learned the same
Burned in brain, nothing left to lose but gain
