Paul Fleming heard about Hopegivers as he attended Liberty College (now Liberty University). He heard M. A. Thomas preach in Chapel and then later met Dr Samuel Thomas. Paul visited  India in 2005 where he spoke at a combined graduation ceremony for 10,000 people.
