Geoff Price talks with Mohammed, a Hazara refugee from Afghanistan, persecuted by the Taliban. As just a teenage boy he was entrusted by his desperate family to people smugglers to try to save him from becoming a forced child soldier or summary execution. He tells, for the first time, a story of courage, luck, panic and a terrifying boat journey to Australia as he tries to find a safe place in the world. And once here meeting the challenges of a different world altogether, finding his true religion, meeting Aussie girls, and “a beautiful angel” … and becoming someone he could be proud of.
