Listen "Quiet Quitting - It Applies to All of Us"
Episode Synopsis
Quiet Quitting is a horrible name for a very important phenomenon going on in the workplace today. I’ve heard people call it stealing from the company, laziness, or a lack of gratitude for having a job. What we’re seeing now is a whole community of people recognizing that they have been asked to do WAY more than their jobs require for too long. We have all been socialized to believe a lot of stories about work, and the Great Resignation and Quiet Quitting are all cries for help from a hurting population. People are being asked to work too hard, for too long, without adequate mental health frameworks in place to ensure that they don’t burn out or get sick. And it’s a lot easier to give these phenomena cute names and come up with a bullet list of 5 things you can do to help engage your employees more than to really look at the root causes. We need to do better as managers – and reflect upon our own culpability in these responses. And as employees, we need to do a lot better about articulating our needs, setting boundaries, and standing up for ourselves in a vocal and clear way that allows for change to happen.ResourcesBlog Posts & Articleshttps://www.npr.org/2022/08/19/1117753535/quiet-quitting-work-tiktok https://www.popsugar.com/smart-living/what-is-quiet-quitting-48919796 Coursework Boundaries done for youBusiness Beyond ProfitLink to the Holiday eventLaziness Does Not ExistFollow Dr. Devon Price, Stephanie Perry, CONNECT WITH ME MORE AT:http://www.stopshoulding.mehttps://www.instagram.com/minessa.konecky/ 🎵 Thank you to Karacter for allowing me to use Telepathy (2005) in my intro.
