That’s why the Christian Nationalist majority on the US Supreme Court ruled yesterday that Donald Trump has absolute immunity from criminal prosecution even as an ex-President.The idea of presidential immunity is found nowhere in the US Constitution, however.The American constitutional tradition of democracy holds that in order to prevent autocracy, the President must be weak, constrained by checks and balances.Joe Biden is weak, and that's what makes him exactly the kind of President America needs right now.The kind of weakness America needs in its leadership is a humble weakness, a wise weakness, a restrained weakness.
