The warning pictures printed on cigarette packets aren’t pretty but they aren’t effective. After buying 2-3 packs you just get used to seeing it. I think that ‘anti-advertising’ maybe has an effect on small children, but not for people who already smoke. People aren’t stupid, everybody knows that when you put something toxic in your body it will create damage to you.
We don’t get out of beg planning to break your leg, we all get out of bed with the intention of doing something good. Even a bank robber has good intentions for himself – consequences are something else entirely. People who smoke do so for reasons which are different for everyone, some habitually smoke – to speed up time when I’m bored, to make food taste better, relieving stress from work, and whatever they say is true for them. When I work with clients I respect that. Everyone has a different gauge of what their health means to them and how important it is to them. What they need is a different input for after they stop smoking.
I use tools from CBT to help ease cravings. On of the most powerful ones in the ‘pai scale’. We tend to catastrophise to show bad things that we don’t like to make out that they’re worse than they really are. In reality, they’re just things and events, our perception gives them value. My technique is to not give much value to that handful of dead grass that is a cigarette or the craving for it. Cravings are good, like the craving for food when we are hungry, when you feel a craving just say: “thank you, craving, I understand that there is a need that needs to be fulfilled and I will do this and that to achieve satisfaction”. We give a number to the craving from 1-10, 10 being unbearable, it’s unlikely to ever be a 10 – even if they say it’s a 10 – because 10 would mean death. If you’re still breathing there’s hope to reduce it from a 9 to a 1.
NLP tools have really been a game changer in my life, that’s how I learned to design the life I wanted to live, how to do it and how to make it important for me to create goals that are mine, not somebody else’s, and how to create a mindset from the resources that I already had inside of me, in my subconscious mind, and to use them to achieve what I wanted to achieve. My grand goal was to help people through coaching. This is what I want to do with my life.
BEST MOMENTS‘The simplest way to stop smoking is to stop putting cigarettes in your mouth, the problem is what to do after this because the brain instantaneously looks for something else.’‘I get my clients to imagine doing and achieving amazing things but without holding a cigarette, rather than a no smoking sign, because our brains like to feel better.’‘Addiction itself is programmed. You’re not addicted to nicotine, you’re addicted to dopamine. The brain is lazy and is always searching for shortcuts. It has figured out that with one shot of nicotine it can easily get a large supply of dopamine, but it doesn’t know that the habit is killing us. If we re-train the brain to think it’s going to get a hit of dopamine once a week, it’ll be happy with that, this is why some people can smoke only at the weekends in the company of other people.’‘Life is happening and it doesn’t care what you want.’ABOUT THE GUESTMy name is Rad Suvajatz, just like you I achieved everything people told me that is good to achieve: finished all the schools, got a steady and safe job, regular pay, but something was bugging me all that path. It felt wrong. like something was missing. In the beginning, I thought, it’s not a big deal, until one day it became i big deal.Ever since then I started to learn to widen my views, took all the courses I could find in my home town until I finally found answers for my doubts and worries. And on my big surprise, the answers have been inside of me.Suddenly I was proud of me for all of my accomplishments till that day, and I was ready to go after my mission in this life, and that mission is to help people with my knowledge to overcome their insecurities, using the things I learned and NLP Practitioner technics.I have specialised in NLP technics that help clients work on achieving their goals, anchoring resources they need to achieve their goals, and removing the mental blockades that prevent clients from moving forward in their lives (fears, unpleasant experiences in past etc.) and implementation of desired behavior.Website: https://radsuvajatz.wordpress.com/CONTACT METHODSWebsite: www.quantumtransition.eu/en/Facebook: @quantumtransitionABOUT THE HOSTGavin Scott is a born entrepreneur with a passion for start up and scale up. He has over 20 years real estate experience in investment and development.Gavin says: Over the years I have discovered that mindset is everything. Now, that might sound obvious, but it is! You see the number of awoken minds are very few in reality. Whilst acknowledging mindset is key it is absolutely different from utilising, influencing, impacting and effecting great change, for yourself, your loved ones, friends, colleagues and the wider public. Why?Like most of us I have had many ups and downs. I want to share the lessons learnt and promote a better environment for all, internally and externally! How?Through sharing my own experiences and hosting some fabulous individuals including some big household names to discuss key topics around mindset and the success formulas I hope the listener will become inspired to create space for change for betterment in their lives. I aim to inspire change by encouragement, not by force. I intend to inspire by education, not by regulation.CONTACT [email protected]
