KEY TAKEAWAYS
I knew a boy when I was young who had a great upbringing, his parents embodied the values associated with family, home was a safe place. During his childhood he experienced challenges but he never took them personally or for them to get the better of him, he lived life by his own standards.
Tragically, his mother passed away when he was about 18 after a brave two-year fight with cancer. Despite facing this with bravery and trying to make the impact of her passing as easy as possible, the boy felt a great disconnect, something so precious, something that lit up his universe, something that he believed in, trusted and knew was good and gave him a sense of security and confidence was suddenly ripped from under him.
His world changed. He began to see dark where there was light, challenge where there wasn’t, he began to create a world which didn’t serve him and drew to him darker times. He didn’t deal with challenges the same as he did before, he was more negative, less grateful, super-cynical, he began not to trust the universe, the process, religion, anyone that was close to him.
He smiled and expressed joy, but his heart didn’t light up in the same way, it was to all intents and purposes encased in a warrior’s shield, confined to the prison of this shield. His work suffered, his relationships suffered with intimate partners, family, business colleagues. The way he related to the world had completely changed and he went out of his way to hide from life.

BEST MOMENTS
‘He would laugh at the sign of trouble, he would raise his chin in the face of adversity and say “I step forwards, I choose to acknowledge challenges with courage, I will show others the possibilities that they cannot see.’
‘So few of us are privileged enough to have such an incredible upbringing. Some might say, the world needed to even out and that he was to go through challenges in his life.’
‘Do you know what it feels like to go from an arena of self-expression where you are free to be, free to be and free to act to a world where you feel judged, criticised, a world where you believe everything is against you?’
‘One day he woke up from his story and wondered “where have I been? Who has been walking in my shoes and sleeping in my bed? I don’t recognise that person.” In that moment he aligned with his true nature and the shield around his heart was removed and what had fundamentally changed was that he could see it was a story he’d been telling himself and others. What do you tell yourself and is it real?’

ABOUT THE HOST
Gavin Scott is a born entrepreneur with a passion for start up and scale up. He has over 20 years real estate experience in investment and development.
Gavin says: Over the years I have discovered that mindset is everything. Now, that might sound obvious, but it is! You see the number of awoken minds are very few in reality. Whilst acknowledging mindset is key it is absolutely different from utilising, influencing, impacting and effecting great change, for yourself, your loved ones, friends, colleagues and the wider public.
Why?
Like most of us I have had many ups and downs. I want to share the lessons learnt and promote a better environment for all, internally and externally!
How?
Through sharing my own experiences and hosting some fabulous individuals including some big household names to discuss key topics around mindset and the success formulas I hope the listener will become inspired to create space for change for betterment in their lives. I aim to inspire change by encouragement, not by force. I intend to inspire by education, not by regulation.
