Listen "1 Samuel: God is King - 1 Samuel 4-6"
Episode Synopsis
In today’s sermon, we dive into the narrative of 1 Samuel 4-6, exploring what it means that God is the true, sovereign King. The Israelites attempt to manipulate God into winning their battles, treating Him like a tool for their own success. But God’s response demonstrates His unmatched power and holiness, showing He’s not to be taken lightly. We see Him overthrow the Philistine god, Dagon, and ultimately secure His victory without any human intervention which points us to the ultimate victory of Jesus over sin and death won on our behalf. Join us as we reflect on how to honor God’s authority and avoid reducing our relationship with Him to mere transactions. Preacher: Michael Calder
