Mike Hoss hosted WWL's weekly "Saints Hour," featuring special guest Charlie Smyth, the black-and-gold's new kicker. Smyth recapped his journey to becoming the Saints' starting kicker, explaining how "delighted" he was to get the opportunity. Smyth said he was happy his first NFL kick was a long field goal attempt, and he discussed the reaction from his hometown in Ireland. He explained that he only worked on onside kicks a "handful" of times. Smyth also broke down the difference of kicking the NFL's new K-balls, the kicking talent in the modern era of pro football, and his adjustment to New Orleans.
