The Freaks on Alex Bowman DQ and Playoffs Exit. It was a running commentary throughout much of the broadcast Sunday night. NASCAR disqualified Hendrick Motorsports driver Alex Bowman from the Charlotte Roval race. That left him in 36th place for the final results and that dropped Bowman from the Final Eight in the next round of the NASCAR Cup Playoffs. A NASCAR official said the issue with Bowman's car was weight. It was too light in the post race inspection and opportunities to correct the situation ended up at the same place. The car was illegal.
