മണ്ഡലകാല പൂജകൾക്കായി ശബരിമല നട തുറന്നു. തന്ത്രി കണ്ഠര് മഹേഷ് മോഹനരുടെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൽ മേൽശാന്തി അരുൺ കുമാർ നമ്പൂതിരിയാണ് നടതുറന്നത്. നടതുറന്ന് ദീപം തെളിയിച്ച ശേഷം അയ്യപ്പനെ യോഗനിദ്രയിൽ നിന്നുണർത്തി. വിഭൂതി ഭക്തർക്ക് പ്രസാദമായി നൽകി.  മേൽശാന്തി പതിനെട്ടാം പടി ഇറങ്ങി ആഴിയിലേക്ക് അഗ്നി പകർന്നു.  തുടർന്ന് ശബരിമലയിലെ പുതിയ മേൽശാന്തി പ്രസാദ് നമ്പൂതിരിയെയും, മാളികപ്പുറം മേൽശാന്തി മനു നമ്പൂതിരിയെയും മാലയിട്ട് പതിനെട്ടാം പടിയിലൂടെ ശ്രീകോവിലിനു മുന്നിലേക്ക് സ്വീകരിച്ചു.
