Episode Synopsis

Good day, weather aficionados! Let's dive into your 3-Day Forecast brought to you by the U.S. Department of Commerce, more specifically, NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center.First up, let's talk about geomagnetic activity. Over the past 24 hours, we've seen a peak of 3 on the Kp scale, staying below NOAA's levels. However, in the coming days, we're expecting a bit of a shake-up with a predicted Kp of 6. This means we might experience a G1 to G2 geomagnetic storm, especially on September 10th and 11th due to a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) heading our way.Switching gears to solar radiation, things have been calm below storm levels. But, keep your eyes to the sky as there's a slight 10% chance for Minor or greater solar radiation storms from September 9th to 11th.Lastly, in the world of radio blackouts, we've witnessed R1 level events recently. Looking ahead, a 55% probability of R1 to R2 events is on the horizon, with a pinch of a 15% chance for stronger R3 or greater incidents throughout September 9th to 11th.Remember, for the full lowdown on your local weather and space science updates, check out the link in our show notes.
