As Commander Bundeswehr Transformation Command Thiele shaped the Bundeswehr's path toward network-enabled capabilities.In his honorary and business functions, Thiele advises governments and industry on Defence Innovation and Disruptive Technologies in times of digital transformation. He has directed and contributed to numerous European Defence and Security Studies. Cooperation partners include CSIS, Washing- ton; Hybrid Centre of Excellence, Helsinki; Keio University, Tokyo; National Defense University, Seoul; RAND, Washington. Thiele has chaired conferences and accepted speaking engagements on most continents. He has published widely, most recently the book “Hybrid Warfare. Future and Technologies.”, reflecting on the findings of a major, international Hybrid COE study project.
