Habari Gani!! In 2014, I took a trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar that began the reckoning of my radical self-love. However, it wasn't just a vacation of sightseeing, good food, and beautiful beaches. I got a crash course on embracing culture, the concept of privilege, and how it contributed to these oppressive systems. Reflecting on current events, I feel we give entirely too much energy to people who refuse to see us as human. Let's work collectively to dismantle, unlearn, and check ourselves to create the best solutions for moving forward.
