After committing our life to Christ for the first time, we experience great joy, and we are excited to follow Him together with others. We see initial transformation in our lives also, and that encourages us. But soon, reality tempts us. Our minds get diverted. Through willful neglect or, because of social influences, we no longer continue trusting Christ. We lose faith. The result is the ongoing felt absence of God in our lives.
