Our guest this week is psychotherapist Maja Cupac, M.Ed., LPCC-S, SEP.
Maja was born and raised in Croatia. War broke out when she was 10 years old forcing her and her family out of their beloved country at gunpoint, Maja was forced into exile in a neighboring country and eventually came to the United States as a refugee. She was placed in Kentucky where she immersed herself in academia and set out on her path to help others. She now has over 15 years of experience treating a variety of mental health issues. As the clinical director of Olive Tree Counseling in Louisville, KY, Maja primarily practices somatic experiencing and neurofeedback.
In this podcast, we will discuss how the body holds memory and how somatic therapies help one heal at the cellular level. We will explore how somatic approaches are used to engage the relationship between mind, body, brain, and behavior and help calm the nervous system to create more ease in the healing process.
