I believe that when I am in this very posture of quiet time, my devotional time, when I am pouring over scripture, praying, and meditating, that I am in the secret place of the Most High. But I believe that this secret place is where God is, and if He is with you, which he has promised then I believe that just as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, we can be in the world, and still held by God in His secret place. Matt 23:37 says “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, murdering the prophets and stoning those who are sent to you! How often would I have gathered your children together as a mother fowl gathers her brood under her wings, and you refused!”

Dwelling in the secret place — is a choice! Are we choosing to be there? Are we willingly and lovingly in our secret place?
