(1)The growth of the Asian American population has slowed, but remains among the highest of any major racial or ethnic group since 2000. (2)According to a Pew Research study, between 2000 and 2019, the Asian origin population in the US grew 81 percent. (2)California, Texas and New York accounted for 43% of the growth. In terms of growth rates, North Dakota and South Dakota saw the fastest increases. (2)The 2020 US Census reports that 24 million people identify as Asian alone or in combination with another race. (3)  1.6 Million people identify as Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander  or in combination with another race.
