Sol Selectas is excited to present the first solo EP from long time contributor Guy Mayaan, with 3 original tunes bursting with energy, happiness, and live instrumentation.

"Niache" opens the EP with full power, a certified party starter which was actually Guy’s first attempt at making a “peak time higher tempo” song. The vocals are from Kenyan singer Karrey, and the emotion and passion in her voice blends perfectly with the uplifting horns, and funky bass line. The percussion carries the tune and is the bedding for the energy it releases.

"Uplaya" is another funky feel good track, with high energy percussion, rolling bass, and live trumpet recordings. The unexpected build up opens ups into a playful synth sound, reminding us of a colorful carnival.

"Light in the Sky" is a song about breaking one self out of a dark place, and believing in your own abilities. The confidence to acknowledge one's strengths, and be the small glimmer of hope to continue on your journey. The ethereal nature of the wind instruments ,and the analog synth build up, takes us from darkness, through the tunnel of life, and into the light.

Helia’s cover art is another glimmer of the psychedelic dance of the Ying and Yang, the light and dark. the melting circus of wild horses and mysterious snakes.
