Listen "Facebook Is Not My Community"
Episode Synopsis
The recent protests in the Black Lives Matter movement have led many people to start talking about racial inequality for the first time on social media and other public forums. It seems the conversation has never been quite as open as now. While this is an incredibly positive shift, it is also important to question whether Facebook and other social media platforms are the absolute best forum to hold nuanced conversations between allies and black communities. In this episode, I talk about my struggles with holding vulnerable conversations around inclusivity and racial justice on a very public platform like Facebook, with its problematic algorithm and values.
