Listen "Love, is it a feeling or an action?"
Episode Synopsis
Living out our faith by loving others...
Are you living out your faith?
Are you loving your neighbor?
In order to love our neighbor, we have to know who they are. Join Holly and Mallory as they discuss walking out love and putting the command to love others to action. Our neighbors aren't just our friends, our closest people, the ones we see consistently, those we have things in common with. Our neighbors are those we cross paths with, those we see and don't know... To love God is to follow His command to love our neighbor. Love is a characteristic of God and one that can be contagious. We read and look at the story of the good Samaritan The Samaritan was the only one that passed by and saw a person, not a race or ethnicity but a person in need. He didn't see their sin or mistakes, their characteristics but saw him as a person in need. Showing love through kindness and compassion to others. Compassion: seeing a need, being moved someone's need and then acting to help the need.
* We must move toward people and not away
Jesus never calls us to do something He has not already done. He has and will always be our example.
* Love is the mark of a mature believer
