Since going solo during lockdown then escaping to rural France after a house fire devastated her home in South Wales, indie folk singer songwriter Alcie Bela has embarked on a journey to fully independently record and produce her first project.Alongside her music and life partner, award wining Welsh blues singer songwriter Jack Ellis, she has produced a 5 track debut EP called Botanical Imaginations.It encapsulates recovering from traumatic times, embracing lockdown, losing everything to the flames and getting back on her feet to walk into a new life in the French wilderness.Their first track together, Snake Eyes, won them Best Musical Collaboration from Wigwam Awards in December 2020. Since then they have been concentrating on Alcie Bela’s first EP with plans to record a full studio album to follow. Mike catches up with Alcie at home in France to chat about her career and future plans.
