Listen "Episode 5: Five Points of Play - January 4, 2023"
Episode Synopsis
On today's edition of Five Points of Play:
We discuss the truncated Day 2 of the 3rd and final Test between Australia and Pakistan in Sydney, and whether the lack of play has hindered the chance of a result once again in the City of Lost Cricket.
Bad light once again reared its ugly head before the onset of rain, and with it a discussion on whether changes need to be made to the regulations in order to maximise the amount of play through what is currently considered bad light, even with the floodlights in use.
Test cricket in South Africa has had some massive ups and downs in the past week, topped off by the 23 wickets falling on the first day of the 2nd Test in their series against India. We talk about what has been happening, and what the consequences going forward may be.
Mujeeb Ur Raman has had his No Objection Certificate for playing with the Melbourne Renegades rescinded, and we talk about the pro's and cons of that decision by the Afghanistan Cricket Board to go ahead with it.
The national Under 17 Male Championships have begun in Ballarat, and we are following two local products Blake Mackrell and Kasey Barton in their escapades with NSW Country. The first game and their performances are reviewed.
