Listen "Fontaines D.C. (ft. the fans)"
Episode Synopsis
In 2014, five lads bonded over Dublin, poetry and music at school- the manifestation of their friendship being their band ‘Fontaines D.C.’ Little did they know that ten years later, they’d be the group responsible for enkindling a resurgence in Irish music. After graduating from BIMM in Dublin, Fontaines D.C. landed a record deal, a tour and a whole lot of love from their home crowd. But it was their 2022 album ‘Skinny Fia’ that generated buzz and saw them break through into the UK music scene.Since then, they’ve adopted a new look, new label, new producer and new sound. The result of this you may ask? A chart battle next to none other than ‘Espresso’s’ Sabrina Carpenter. The success the boys has seen in the past year has been phenomenal but how much does their Dublin-centric tunes resonate with an audience from across the pond? Thankfully, I’m joined by fan Tristan, to answer exactly that.I’ll also be taking you through the link between this episode’s and last episode’s ‘The Weeknd’….who could be the next artist and what will be their connection to Fontaines D.C.?To watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/4WhQf7LdW0AFollow us on TikTok and Instagram: @sixnotespodcastFollow Tristan everywhere: @midnightclementineTo be a future fan on the show, email us at: [email protected]
