In this episode we continue our series on how to achieve peak performance in business. Today we are tackling the topic of communication. It is so important and there is so much to communicate, it is going to take us 2 episodes to cover it all. If you are a leader in any capacity, your ability to communicate effectively is a difference maker in terms of the level of success your team will be able to achieve. We cover the different types of communication, verbal, non-verbal and written. We hit on the importance of all of these. The non-verbal communication (body language) that you are giving to your team could be sending the wrong message. Check yourself, your tone, your attitude and the way you carry yourself around your team. Aside from the internal communication you have with your team and the culture that you create based on that communication, you also have external communication to the clients you serve, the vendors you do business with, etc. It’s important that your internal message gets conveyed to the end user. The word communication sometimes gets confused with speaking or talking when the most important part of communication is listening. If you listen to all the above forms of communication that you are receiving from your team, clients, vendors, end users, it will tell you if you are hitting the mark or if there is work to do.
