Listen "Practicing Mindfulness: How to Separate Your Identity From Your Production"
Episode Synopsis
Most agents think their stress comes from slow months, inconsistent clients, or a market that refuses to cooperate. But every time we peel back the layers, we find something far more honest and far more uncomfortable: most people don't actually know where they stand with themselves. They're building their entire business on an internal foundation they've never paused long enough to inspect. The real work isn't lead gen, time blocking, or even skill-building. It's answering one deceptively simple question: Am I okay? Not "am I productive?" Not "am I where I thought I'd be at this age?" Not "am I keeping up with the top agents?" But am I internally okay, without a closing, without a pipeline, without a good day to prop yourself up? That question exposes everything. It shows you where you're avoiding your own truth, where you're basing your worth on activity, and where your inner dialogue has nothing to do with reality. How do you start looking honestly at what you're feeling? How do you name it, and label it? How do you stop being so hard on yourself? In this episode, I talk about letting go of imaginary pressure, releasing the obsession with outcomes, and an important step we need to take before writing our personal constitutions. Things You'll Learn In This Episode -Your value can't come from your closings Most agents tie their self-worth to production, even though the market determines far more than they do. How do you separate who you are from what the month looks like? -Thoughts are automatic, not authoritative The mind produces interpretations, not truths. How do you notice a thought without letting it dictate your emotional state? -Worry is a habit, not a warning Most fears agents carry are imagined outcomes, not present realities. How do you break the cycle of predicting problems that haven't happened? -Feeling "behind" is a shared experience Nearly everyone in a slow market feels like they're not doing enough. How do you recognize this without turning it into a personal judgment? About Your Hosts Your co-hosts are Brandon Roberts, founder of Signature Real Estate Group, and Chris Bishop, General Manager.
